Generic Vaniqa (eflornithine hydrochloride cream, 13.9%) is a topical prescription cream that is FDA-approved to reduce unwanted facial hair. Generic Vaniqa works during the growth stage of the hair cycle by interfering with an enzyme in the follicle necessary for hair to grow. This results in slower growth and improved appearance where applied.
Generic Vaniqa is available by prescription to reduce unwanted facial hair in women. Unlike chemical depilatory creams which dissolve the hair follicle structure, Generic Vaniqa helps to slow down hair growth and needs to be used in conjunction with other hair removal processes such as waxing, tweezing, and laser hair removal.
Generic Vaniqa is typically applied twice daily with at least 8 hours between each application. Before using the product, remove any unwanted hair using your preferred method of hair removal. Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes after hair removal before applying Generic Vaniqa. Apply a thin layer of cream to areas with unwanted facial hair, completely rub in the product and leave on for at least 4 hours. Once the cream dries, cosmetics and sunscreen can be applied as normal.
