Have you lost your edges to lace front wigs, tight ponytails/hairstyles, tight extensions/braids/cornrows, or sew-in’s??? Have you lost more than 25% of your hair as well as your edges because of this? If so, you have what is called ‘Traction Alopecia‘
Don’t feel bad Sweetheart, dozens of women that have this issue. My step-by-step guide will show you exactly how to grow your edges back fast. I guarantee you’ll see significant results within 6 weeks, as long as you follow my guide and be consistent. Before we began, we need to discuss a few things…
WHAT IS TRACTION ALOPECIA?
Alopecia: Is an auto-immune disease that develops when the body attacks its own hair follicles, which can cause hair loss (partial or total) anywhere on the body. Alopecia affects as many as 6.8 million people in the U.S. with a lifetime risk of 2.1%. People of all ages, both sexes and all ethnic groups can develop alopecia areata. It often first appears during childhood and can be different for everyone who has it.
Main Types Of Alopecia:
• Alopecia areata: Alopecia is the medical term for bald. Areata means patchy. This patchy baldness can develop anywhere on the body, including the scalp, beard area, eyebrows, eyelashes, armpits, inside your nose, or ears.
• Alopecia totalis: The person loses all hair on the scalp, so the scalp is completely bald.
• Alopecia universalis: The person loses all hair, leaving the entire body hairless. This is rare.
Traction alopecia is a type of alopecia, not caused by genetics or auto-immune disease. Traction alopecia is hair loss (or gradual hair loss) caused by: tightly pulled hairstyles, sewn-in weave tracks, glue used to affix lace front wigs to the hairline and weave tracks to the scalp, and removal of glued lace or weave track. Traction alopecia causes bald spots and recession of the hairline due to chronic traction, or hair pulling. If traction alopecia is caught early, it can be fully reversible and the hair can regrow. If the hair is constantly worn in the above styles, over time the hair follicles become irreversibly damaged causing the hair to not regrow.
Symptoms of Traction Alopecia Include:
• A receding hairline typically around the forehead, temples, or nape
• Small pimples appear on the scalp or at the base of braids
• Redness, itching, and ulcers on the scalp
• The hair part widens
• Patches of thin or broken hair in places where the hair has been under strain
• Patches of shiny, scarred skin in more advanced cases
• Puss at the point of attachement of the glue/sew-in/base of braids in more advanced cases
• Hypo-pigmentation or Vitiligo Patches at the point of attachement of the glue/sew-in/base of braids in more advanced cases
WHAT CAUSED YOUR TRACTION ALOPECIA AND WHAT WILL PREVENT IT FROM WORSENING?
Traction alopecia is caused by: tightly pulled hairstyles, sewn-in weave tracks, and glue used to affix lace front wigs to the hairline and weave tracks to the scalp *** Removal of glued lace/track rips many hairs out from the root, similar to wax hair removal *** At some point you noticed your hairloss, but instead of discontinuing use of wigs/weaves/braids/glue/etc you increased usage in order to hide the hairloss. And now, wearing wigs are a necessity. You can no longer leave the house without a wig or some sort of fake hair on your head.
SCARY FACT: If you continue to abuse your hair and scalp this way, you will keep your traction alopecia. And you’ll continue to bald until there is no hair left on your head.
Traction alopecia most commonly effects African-American females. Because, sadly, in 2020 90% of African-American females wear wigs and weaves. This stems all the way back to African slavery times, when slave masters taught Africans slaves that their hair was ugly nappy and ‘bad’. And required all female slaves and their “Pickaninnies” to hide and cover their hair with cloth wraps and scarfs. At the same time it was taught that Caucasian female’s hair was beautiful and ‘good’…Flash forward 155 years, African-American women are chemically straightening our & hair still hiding our hair only the head wraps are now wigs.
TRACTION ALOPECIA STARTS EARLY
Sadly, traction alopecia starts at a young age with a lot of African-American females. Chemical relaxers, weaves, tight braids/extensions, 25 tight ponytails (with rubber bands) with three barrettes hanging from each of them…This is where it starts, and by the time they’re in high-school all of their edges are gone!
Hair truly is a woman’s glory, it holds ALL of our confidence. Whether forced by a slave master, society, or traction alopecia to cover and hide your real hair… A woman’s self-esteem is completely destroyed by this. If you’re not able to leave home without a wig on your head, there is a problem… If your self-esteem & confidence comes from a wig, there is a problem. So please come out of denial and stop making up all of these ridiculous excuses “White women do it too!” “It’s a protective hairstyle!” etc…etc…etc?
Fake hair is a huge problem within the African-American community. Businesses like mine are attacked for selling skin bleaching creams, but there is a serious ⚠️weave addiction⚠️ within the black community that is hurting and harming people. And black folks are afraid to speak up and address this problem. Unlike weaves, my products help heal skin and enables ALL ethnic/melinated individuals to repair and correct hyperpigmentation issues, which we are plagued by. As well as help protect/prevent people from purchasing harmful creams (mercury & steroids) to bleach their skin. Weaves & wigs have been known to cause diesease, bacterial infections, and cancer! African-American women are the biggest consumers of weave, wigs, black hair products, and hair supplies. The Koreans are making $billions from African-American women’s hair addiction, while they don’t even like you nor want you in their stores. And Koreans purposely hinder/block African-Americans from purchasing hair in bulk from Korean wholesalers, so that they can continue to dominate the hair industry. There are about 300 African-American beauty supply store owners nationwide(over 10k+ Korean owed) and they pay way more for the hair because they are blocked from the opportunity of buying discounted hair in bulk from Korean wholesalers. So please remeber this the next time you’re purchase your beloved weaves wigs and hair stuff from your local Korean beauty supply store?
Yes…The same exact thing can be said about skin bleaching & the effects of slavery. Maybe…but not all of us that use skin bleach want to bleach our skin white to look like a ‘Caucasian’ person. Some of us just want to get rid of flaws & hyperpigmentation. Some want to bleach their skin several or many shades Lighter, but not ‘white’. And yes, there are some people that want to completely bleach all of the melanin out of their skin. Since skin bleaching is safe(while tanning is not!) people need to respect others right to ‘Body Modification’. A heavy skin bleacher is apart of the #BodyModcommunity and they are no different from those that get many body piercings, tattoos, or cosmetic surgery procedures.
Good movie about body modification & the #BodyMod community…
Here at isis.gold I’m all about healthy skincare and haircare. I don’t wear makeup nor do I wear weave. My self confidence would be at zero if I had to wear either. My goal is to enable all my female customers to eliminate the need for makeup and wigs.

STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY!
There are a lot of products claiming to regrow edges but the truth is there is no “one” product that can do that. So stop wasting your money on those so-called “miracle edges” products. There are several methods you need to use in order restore your hair. Some of these methods involve cosmetic surgery or Dermatologist/MediSpa treatments. However, the main treatments (and most important) will be done at home, by you. Below I will explain exactly how to do all of this.
HOW BAD IS YOUR TRACTION ALOPECIA?
No matter the level or severity of your traction alopecia, all of the above will benefit with the below ‘DIY at home’ treatment. But if you have severe traction alopecia, you will ultimately need to seek the cosmetic surgery methods explained below. If you have mild traction alopecia, using the DIY method below may completely rid your traction alopecia to where you’re satisfied enough with the results to no seek no additional help. But you can always benefit from the cosmetic surgery methods below, to perfect your hairline.
#1 Apply the Tretinoin Gel 0.1% all over the area affected by traction alopecia. The tret gel may feel a little oily, but it isn’t. It will completely absorb and your skin will be dry in 30 minutes. Allow the tret gel to fully absorb before applying any other product. Apply this Tretinoin Gel 0.1% 2-3 times weekly. Tretinoin Gel 0.1% will exfoliate the damaged traction alopecia skin/scalp, unclogging pores and hair follicles allowing new hair to sprout forth. Exfoliating the scalp with tret gel also stimulates collagen & blood circulation which highly promotes hair growth. It also helps strengthen and heal your damaged traction alopecia skin/scalp. Most importantly, removing dead skin will allow the treatments to penetrate deeper and work faster. In the following weeks you will see your hairline (or scalp) peel, it will look like dandruff only the skin will peel off in large pieces like plastic wrap. Your hair will appear thicker every time your scalp peels.
#2 Fill the glass dropper with DMSO and empty it unto the bottle of Generic Latisse. Fill the bottle up to the opening. Replace the Generic Latisse top/spout then shake. Apply your Generic Latisse serum all over the area effected by traction alopecia. You don’t have to wait for it to absorb but make sure it’s not running. Now apply your Rogaine to the effected area. The foam melts with body heat so don’t spray too much, a little goes a long way. Fill your 2oz. glass dropper bottle half-way with Shapeley’s MTG (shake well first then pour!) Then pour in the DMSO and fill the bottle to the top. Replace the glass dropper cap, then shake. Apply this Shapeley’s MTG mixture to the traction alopecia affected ares, remember to shake the bottle first then apply with the glass dropper. Only use a little bit, because MTG is very oily and runny one drop will cover a large area. Next, pour the rest of the DMSO into the Miconazole 2% Spray bottle, then apply the spray to your head/edges (use 3-4 times weekly for 6 weeks. Then stop for 6 weeks. Then repeat). Next apply your Super Hair Growth Oil to the effected area. This oil has cayenne pepper in it so don’t let it run into your eyes and don’t rub your eyes with your hands afterwards. NOTE: Whenever you wash your head/hair use the Miconazole 2% Shampoo. Apply the shampoo to your dry head/edges, rub it in and let it sit. Then add water, later, then rinse, and repeat.
#3 After applying all of the above treatment serums/oils, take your dermal roller and micro-needle the entire effected area. Use the appropriate sized dermal roller from your kit. Go over each area 3 times. Your skin will tingle and maybe burn (from the cayenne pepper in the Super Hair Growth Oil) but this will pass after about 30 minutes. Cover your head with plastic wrap, or wrap it around your head/edges. Then put on your Red Light Therapy Cap.
FREQUENCY
This treatment needs to be applied everyday. After 4 weeks you will see a very big difference in your edges or scalp hair.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to see a lot of ‘baby hairs’ growing in. This is because of the Rogaine. Then the Generic Latisse makes those baby hairs thicker darker and grow unusually long. The rest of the products will stregnthen the new hair you grow and will stimulate your hair to grow even faster and very thick.
IN THE MEANTIME…
While you’re working on regrowing your hair, you might want to use something to fill-in your edges or scalp so that you won’t look as bald. I know that it’s common to use mascara, but that looks messy and odd after about an hour. I suggest using ‘SMH Hair Enhancer’ to fill-in your edges and bald spots until the hair grows in.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTS & TOOLS LISTED ABOVE
Rogaine: Truly works! If you ever were to get hair transplants they will prescribe Rogaine along Viviscal hair vitamins, to strengthen your newly transplanted hair follicles as they heal and become permanent. Rogaine It reactivates hair follicles even the ones from when you were a baby. Yes it reactivates actual baby hairs! Your baby hairs will grow back from when you were a baby/toddler. Rogaine will also activate a few of the damaged hair follicles effected by traction alopecia. The only thing with Rogaine is, if you stop using it the results will stop. So you do have to continue use of Rogaine to continue reaping the benefits. You’ll see full results after 3 continuous months of usage, but you’ll see plenty results after just a few weeks of use.
Generic Latisse: Is bimatoprost 0.3%, an ophthalmic solution that is normally used for glaucoma. It was discovered that a side-effect of using these eye drops was longer, thicker, darker, eyelashes. It also works on ALL hair that it is used on. If you use generic latisse on your edges or scalp it will make what ever hair is present 25% Longer, 106% Thicker, and 18% Darker.
Shapley’s Original M-T-G, Oil:Shapley’s Original M-T-G works great. It can actually grow hair 4 inches in 5 weeks! The only thing with Shapley’s M-T-G, this oil smells terrible. If you can take the smell (and those around you) you’ll see great results. This product also will help heal your skin/scalp affected by traction alopecia, and get rid of any itching and dermatitis associated with traction alopecia. It is important that you also heal your skin/scalp/edges so that your hair follicles can regenerate.
Miconazole 2% Spray & Shampoo: Is an over the counter medication used for fungal infections. This medication is found in over-the-counter athlete’s foot creams, dandruff shampoos, and vaginal yeast infection creams. It was discovered, by many females, that this type of cream (Monistat) grows hair unnaturally fast, and regrows hair on scalp that has been damage (i.e. burns by chemical hair relaxers). Checkout some of the video on YouTube:
Super Hair Growth Oil: This is one of the best hair growth oils on the market. The woman that created this oil grew her hair very long within a year of using this oil (see photos below) This hair growing oil will stimulate hair growth and cause your hair to grow faster than usual, about 1.25″-1.50″ inches monthly1 This hair growing oil is talked about on ‘Black Haircare Media’ forum FYI: Yes, you can manipulate hair to grow fast than what it does. Contrary to what ignorant know-it-all types would have you believe?
DMSO:DMSO, is a powerful organic penetration enhancer. DMSO has many skin benefits, but it is most known for its ability to penetrate deep into tissues and cause any active ingredients to do the same. DMSO increases the efficacy of any product making it even more potent. DMSO, or dimethyl sulfoxide, is derived from Pine trees as a byproduct of the paper manufacturing industry and was first isolated in the mid-1800s by a Russian chemist. It is also naturally found in garlic as one of the root’s 70+ sulfur compounds. DMSO is used topically to decrease pain and speed the healing of wounds, burns, and muscle and skeletal injuries. DMSO is also used topically to treat painful conditions such as headache, inflammation, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and severe facial pain called tic douloureux. It is used topically for eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and problems with the retina; for foot conditions including bunions, calluses, and fungus on toenails; and for skin conditions including keloid scars and scleroderma. It is sometimes used topically to treat skin and tissue damage caused by chemotherapy when it leaks from the IV that is used to deliver it. DMSO is used either alone or in combination with a drug called idoxuridine to treat pain associated with shingles (herpes zoster infection).
Derma Roller:Derma Rollers improve the effectiveness of skincare & haircare products by up to 40%! The micro channels created by the micro-needling help to assist the penetration of skincare & haircare products to the outer dermal layer, allowing active ingredients to reach their targeted areas and deeply replenish the skin/scalp. The micro-needling process also stimulates Collagen and Elastin production, circulation (as the skin heals itself) and the skin’s natural cell regeneration process. Which is needed to heal your skin/scalp effected by traction alopecia.
Red Light Therapy Cap: Science has proven that ‘Low-Level Laser Therapy’ can be used in both men and women to treat androgenetic alopecia. Studies show that cold laser can regrow your hair on the top of your head/crown and along the forehead hairline. Research proves that LLLT has no side effects, is painless, and safe. Improvement is seen after 12 to 26 weeks of use, with reduced hair fall and noticeable hair growth.
How does it work? The hair growth cycle consists of 3 phases:
#1 Growth (anagen phase)
#2 Resting (telogen phase)
#3 Shedding (catagen phase)
Red and near infrared light therapy was found to increase blood flow (micro blood circulation) in the scalp and stimulate metabolism in catagen or telogen follicles. This results in accelerated production of anagen hair – new hair – stimulation of epidermal stem cells in the hair follicle bulge and shifting the follicles into anagen phase. You don’t have to pay hundreds for one of these devices ($600-$3000) I have found a plethora of this Laser Light Therapy devices on AliExpress, the same ones being sold on Amazon and other large online shoppes. Visit the links listed above for the best devices on AliExpress.
Viviscal:Viviscal truly works and if you ever were to get hair transplants they will prescribe this hair vitamin along with Rogaine, to strengthen your newly transplanted hair follicles as they heal and become permanent. Viviscal contains a rare hair growing ingredient called ‘AminoMar’.
AminoMar®: The groundbreaking, clinically proven marine complex available exclusively in Viviscal supplements. Derived from key marine protein molecules combined with a blend of Horsetail (Stem) Extract and naturally occurring Silica, it provides essential nutrients needed to promote existing hair growth from within. The best/most important product is their oral supplement, but I’m sure if you used the shampoo and conditioner it would only boost your results. It’s up to you, just make sure you’re taking the daily oral supplement.
Play With My Hair – Vitamins: This hair vitamin grows scalp-hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows! This product Works in synergy with Viviscal hair vitamins. Any good hair supplements will always include the below vitamins and amino acids. In addition to the below, PWMH includes some very potent herbs well known for stimulating fast thick hair growth.
This is a very potent proprietary formula includes:
• Fo Ti Root, Aerial Extract, Chaste Tree Berry, Nettle Root Extract, Horsetail Extract, Saw Palmetto Fruit Extract, Dong Quai Root, Green Tea Leaf Extract
• High-dose Biotin 6000mcg (very important for fast hair growth)
• Cysteine: Is a non-essential amino acid (your body can create it) but the presence of Methionine is needed to produce cysteine. Cysteine plays an important role in keeping the overall hair health. Cysteine is one of few amino acids that has the ability to form disulfide bonds in the body. These disulfide bonds hold together the keratin strands within the hair, which provide the hair with its fibrous properties that hold on to moisture and prevent hair dryness. Also, cysteine directly helps in maintaining the texture and thickness of hair. The hair consists of three layers: the cuticle, cortex and medulla. The outer layer – the cuticle – surrounds the inner layers of the cortex and the medulla. The medulla is responsible for the natural hair thickness through genetic signaling. The most prominent of these layers is the middle one; the cortex. It makes up almost 80 – 90% of a single strand of hair. The cortex is abundantly supplied with keratin molecules bundled together that give strength to the hair follicles. Each bundle of this fibrous filament structure contains almost 75% of Cysteine. The cysteine will maintain and promote the keratin and disulfide bond formation.
• Methionine: Is a an essential amino acid (body cannot create, supplementation is needed) a building block for protein & tissues. Many people take it to help their hair grow, to strengthen nails, and keep skin youthful and healthy. Methionine accounts for 14% of the process during skin/hair/tissue creation regeneration and repair. The key element of Methionine is sulfur. To manufacture keratin in the hair shaft, you need the sulfur. And methionine is one of four amino acids that contain sulfur (L-Cysteine being the other one). Keratin is the main material of the hair shaft, one of the proteins that are essential for your appearance. Methionine also helps to smooth your hair and give it more shine. Methionine helps your body to create new protein that makes your nails stronger and more resistant to breaking. Methionine helps improve the skin tone by boosting your collagen production. Collagen, like keratin, is a type of protein. And this becomes more important the older you get as your skin can not produce new skin cells. Taking supplements with methionine will help to keep your skin and hair looking fresh and smooth. Methionine plays an important role to the health of your hair, skin and nails so taking this sulfur-rich compound is something that you should consider including in your everyday diet. Taking a beauty supplement that contains Methionine will boost the availability of protein building blocks that your body needs. This will ultimately support the healthy growth of beautiful hair, nails and skin.
MSM Powder:Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a sulfur-rich compound with anti-inflammatory properties, found in plants, animals, and humans. MSM is commonly used as an oral supplement to treat pain and swelling for a number of conditions including: arthritis, tendinitis, osteoporosis, muscle cramps, headaches, and joint inflammation. MSM also reduces wrinkles & eliminates stretch marks when used orally and topically. When MSM is taken in high doses (24,000mg daily) the side effect is skin lightening and increased hair growth all over your body(eyelashes, eyebrows, edges, body hair, etc). In addition to your hair and edges growing you will notice increased body hair therefore you will have to wax/shave your legs and bikini area more often. COSMETIC SURGERY & MEDISPA TREATMENTS THAT WILL RESTORE YOUR HAIR
In addition to the above regimen, you should consider the below cosmetic treatments/surgery if you have severe traction alopecia. If you have mild traction alopecia you can perfect your hairline with the below surgery/treatments. Whether mild or severe, everyone will benefit from the below surgery/treatments.
MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is a technique that uses injections of vitamins, enzymes, plant extracts, etc. into the fatty later of skin (adipose) or the dermis. This procedure is used to rejuvenate/tighten skin, remove excess fat (fat dissolve), plump the skin (Restylane lip injections), or regrow hair. Michel Pistor, a doctor in France, developed the technique in 1952. It was originally used to relieve pain. In the years since, it has gained popularity in the United States and other parts of the world.
Mesotherapy is used to:
• Remove fat from localized areas (stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms, and face)
• Reduce Cellulite
• Fade Wrinkles and Lines
• Tighten Loose Skin
• Recontour the Body
• Lighten Pigmented Skin
• Treat Alopecia & Hair Loss
Depending on the issue, the appropriate medication/vitamins/nutrients will be injected to treat that specific issue. For hair loss, common compounds containing vitamins/herbs like: biotin, centella asiatica, silica, vitamin-c, retin-A, collagen, hyaluronic acid are injected into the hairline or entire scalp. You can get these treatments from an experienced Dermatologist, Nurse, or Physician’s assistant at a cosmetic surgeon’s office or MediSpa. They will either use a treatment-head/gun with needle & syringe attached, or they will do it manually with just a needle & syringe. You should definitely get weekly/monthly hair loss Mesotherapy treatments in addition to the daily regimen above. If you are a medical professional you’re welcome to do your own mesotherapy treatments at home/office. Institute BCN provides excellent mesotherapy supplies and fast international shipping. PLATELET-RICH PLASMA INJECTIONS
Falls under mesotherapy treatments. PRP injections aren’t just for anti-aging, these treatments also help restore different types of hair loss. PRP injections are all natural and have been found to stimulate regrowth of hair and reduce the effects of thinning regardless of when/how/why the balding started. Someone with traction alopecia will see great results with PRP injections. Doctors typically use this treatment for androgenetic alopecia (a common condition, in males, that cause hair follicles to shrink) or ‘Male Pattern Baldness’. However in recent years, this treatment has been gaining popularity for treating both male & female hairloss of all kinds :::Incidentally, females can also be affected by androgenetic alopecia and it is called ‘Female Pattern Baldness’::: Platelet rich plasma injections have effects on various parts of the body and skin. Platelet rich plasma for hair loss increases blood supply to the hair follicle and increases the thickness of the hair shaft. PRP also triggers and maintains the growth phase, controls your hair growth cycle, and also slows the progression of hair loss.
How Do PRP Injections Work?
To understand how PRP works, it is important to be aware of the role that platelets play in healing. Platelets are a component of blood, along with red and white blood cells. When a person sustains a cut or wound, the platelets are some of the body’s ‘first responders’ that arrive to stop the bleeding and promote healing. Researchers theorized that if they could extract concentrated platelets and inject them into damaged areas of the body, they could accelerate healing. To produce PRP, a medical professional will take a blood sample and put it into a machine called a centrifuge. This machine spins at a rapid rate, which separates the components of the blood. The medical professional then extracts the platelets for injection.
PRP contains a range of growth factors and proteins that speed tissue repair. As some types of hair loss result from damage to hair follicles (i.e. traction alopecia) Doctors have also used PRP to treat injuries to the tendons, muscles, ligaments, and skin. And much healing is needed for your damaged tracion alopecia scalp.
Benefits of PRP Include:
• Re-stimulating hair growth cycle
• Stopping the spread of baldness
• Thickening existing hair
HAIR TRANSPLANTS
Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. This surgical procedure was originally created to treat baldness in males, but in recent years it has been found that a lot of women are getting this procedure also. Especially among African-American women, due to the rise in weave related traction alopecia. If you are considering getting hair transplants, you can expect to pay at least $10,000 for edges. If your entire crown is affected by traction alopecia, expect to pay up to $20k-$30k. Yes this procedure is very expensive but it is well worth it, you’re guaranteed to have a thick hairline & edges after it’s done :::as long as you protect your transplants during healing, and no more tight hair styles after the hair grows in::: TIP: If you get hair transplants, 8 weeks after surgery you should start exfoliating the recipient area with Tretinon gel 0.1% this will keep the skin smooth and elliminate all little bumps at the base of the hair.
SUMMARY
During your journey you must be patient. You didn’t loose your hair/edges in a day, therefore they will not grow back in a day. If you consistently follow the daily regimen above, you’ll see great results. You can restore at least 50% of you hair/edges, if not 100%, without getting the surgery. Pretty soon you won’t have to use hair filler or mascara on your edges, nor will you have to hide your edges with those cloth headbands. In the meantime, I urge you to stay away from weaves, lace front wigs, sew-ins, tight ponytails, braids with fake hair, braids period, hard brown gel on your edges, chemical relaxers on the edges, and chemical hair dyes on the edges. If not, your traction alopecia will worsen until you are completely bald.
