WHAT IS EGF KGF & COPPER PEPTIDES?
EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor which is a single-chain, non-glycosylated protein that naturally occurs in our skin cells. Its main purpose is to heal our skin by promoting DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Once it binds to EGFR (EGF Receptor) on the surface of the cell, the combination of the two kickstarts several signaling pathways that ultimately lead to results such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. In other words, EGF helps repair skin as well as corneal, intestinal, and mucosal wounds. EGF also promotes fast healing of recent trauma to your skin like cuts scratches, redness/inflammation, etc. EGF has many benefits for your skin, including wrinkle improvement, hydration, and pigmentation prevention. The process by which EGF encourages cell growth also stimulates the division of keratinocytes and fibroblasts, which then synthesize fibrous proteins that improve skin elasticity, such as collagen and elastin. Because EGF repairs skin by stimulating the growth of new skin cells, it also enhances skin barrier. This allows skin to hold on to moisture better, so your skin becomes smoother and softer. EGF also inhibits melanin production during the wound healing process, so it improves acne marks, darkspots, redspots, and other forms of hyper-pigmentation.

KGF (Keratinocyte Growth Factor) :KGF, also known as FGF7, is a potent mitogen for different types of epithelial cells. KGF is very potent peptide that’s known for may things, but especially for growing hair. The growth and development of hair follicles is influenced by a number of different growth factors and cytokines, particularly members of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. Keratinocyte growth factor (KGF or FGF-7) is a recently identified 28-kd member of the FGF family that induces proliferation of a wide variety of epithelial cells, including keratinocytes within the epidermis and dermal adnexa. KGF protect the cells that make hair. KGF has proven to increase hair follicle survival rate in cancer patients after/during cancer therapy. This means, KGF helps cancer patients retain most of their hair during/after therapy. KGF functions as a biological switch that is “turned on and off in hair follicles at the beginning and end of the antigen phase of the hair cycle“.

Copper Tripeptide (CTP)
Copper peptides are well known in the skincare industry as a skin-restoring ingredient. When applied topically, Copper peptides improve skin firmness, smoothness, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, by promoting collagen, elastin, glycosaminoglycan (hyaluronic acids) and improve antioxidant activity. Copper Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. They exist naturally in our body, but the amount of copper peptides in our body decreases as we age. In skincare, copper peptides are applied topically via serums and creams and work by signaling to your cells to produce more collagen and other complex molecules that help support skin’s structure. Copper peptides essentially turn back your skin’s clock, making it overall firmer and smoother. Copper peptides have shown in studies to induce collagen production in fibroblasts in vitro. Likely because copper is a critical component involved in the formation of enzymes. Copper is also an anti-inflammatory that speeds up wound healing, meaning it’s great for treating scarring, preventing hyper-pigmentation, and redness caused by inflammation. And if you’re acne-prone, it can even help with breakouts by normalizing bacterial concentration on the skin.

WHAT ARE GROWTH FACTORS?
Joshua Zeichner, dermatologist and director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, offers an easy explanation: “Growth factors are signals that tell your skin cells to behave like young, healthy cells. When it comes to cosmetic use, they are most appropriate for people with aging skin. Because EGF can target various issues such as wrinkles and crepy-ness”

WHEN TO USE EGF KGF & COPPER PEPTIDES?
You can use an EGF cream/serum daily to prevent hyper-pigmentation, get rid of stretchmarks, tighten loose skin, and to prevent the signs of aging. But your skin will highly benefit by using an EGF cream after skin injuries, or to heal surgical incisions after surgery. Like after getting scratched up by a rose bush, bumping your knee on a table, a burn of any sort, microneedling, microdermabrasion, Botox/hyaluronic acid injections, after a chemical peel. Pretty much after any type of skin injury or extreme skin treatment. It’s best to use the herbs/oils/gels appropriate for the skin issue. Example: Tamanu Oil heals burned skin, if your trying to heal a burn or use after a chemical peel. Skin is very dry after it exfoliates/peels, mixing EFG with an Hyaluronic Acid Serum/Cream would benefit your skin during healing.

To stimulate hair growth or reduce hairloss (shedding), add KFG to any potent hair growth serum that is applied directly to the scalp. This will boost your hair growing products and improve their efficacy.

Use copper peptides with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which is a humectant that draws moisture to the skin’s barrier. Copper peptides also work best on skin that has been exfoliated with retinols/retinoids (Tretinoin Gel 0.10%) and other peels, but do mix the copper peptides with these peels. Copper peptides, HA , and niacinamide work in synergy to stimulate more collagen production, tighten/firm skin, and minimize brown spots and hyper-pigmentation. Another anti-aging skin whitening booster, mix it with n-Acetyl Cysteine/Niacinamide creams/gels/serum. n-Acetyl Cysteine & Niacinamide are great ingredients that copper peptides pair well with to minimize redness and brighten skin.

HOW TO USE EGF KGF & COPPER PEPTIDES?
The EGF/KGF/Copper-Tripeptides I sell is not the liquid form you see being sold by most sellers. What’s sold here is the pure potent undiluted form. It’s a concentrated powder that you’ll have to reconstitute with a simple saline solution. Each vial of powder comes with an empty sterile dropper bottle, saline solution, and full instructions on how to reconstitute. You can also choose to reconstitute the powders with an herbal hydrosol. Otherwise just reconstitute your EGF/KGF/Copper-Tripeptides powder with saline solution, then add a few drops to the skin cream/serum of your choice. These powders will make a very potent solution, you only need to add a few drops to your favorite skin creams/serums or add to your microneedling cocktail. Below I’ve listed the optional ingredients you can use add to your creams/serums to make them more potent.

I love KGF I use this with my other skin boosters when I use my Dr. Pen. I love how it heals scratches and pimples super fast. I always keep a supply of KGF on hand since I can be so accident prone. I'm glad Isis started selling these again.
